So...I would like everyone to know it is 6 am and I just officially pulled my first non-studying all nighter. Why? No answer...but it was fun!!!
I hung out with Alexis and Andi for a little while before yell, got all ready to go, and headed over to the dorms. I have to admit...being my fist time to ever be asked to be someone's date to yell, I was pretty nervous. I know it sounds dorky...but I had never done it so I didnt know what to expect! I am sure everyone could tell how nervous I was, but luckily it turned out to be a good night. Well, except for one minor detail which I wish never happened...
So, apparently there is a CT outfit who finds it funny to yell "donuts" as the band walks by. Dont ask me why, they are morons. Anyhow, last week Jeff pissed off one of the sophomores by mocking him and, what do you know, the same sophomore was there agian tonight. Jeff mocked him again and the guy "fronted"(i'm down with the lingo) and tried to get jeff to fight with him! While I dont doubt Jeff's brute strength :) I didnt really want to see a fight, so I pulled him back. A lot of word exchanging, name calling, etc and then Jeff started to make fun of their PT scores...as he was going down the row guessing who all failed their PT test the sophomore says "what about your fat ass girlfriend's?" Now...Jeff didnt hear because he was making fun of the fish, which I guess may have turned out to be for the better, and I wished I hadnt heard because I was completely humiliated. Jeff tried to get the guy to repeat himself so he KEPT saying it but kind of mumbling, so Jeff never got the message. Thankfully. Well, we went up into the stands and I was so self concious...do i look exceptionally large in these jeans? am i really fat? have i gained weight? have i always been fat and not known it? Thousands of questions flood my mind and I said, "i wish you would have beat him up" he reminded me I was the one who held him back, but then I told him the comment. jeff was pretty mad. It was rude, disrespectful, uncalled for...and did I mention disrespectful? Jeff was livid, actually, and profanity started to slip. i almost felt bad for upsetting him! But, I decided to try to forget about it and enjoy yell practice...
So, yell was good. I love yell, first of all. It is such a silly concept, but I love it! I love the idea that we help our team...and I really believe it! its great. I liked practicing yells, the stories were better this week (i didnt say good...) and next thing I knew yell was over. I was pretty exhausted so excited to go home and go to bed, but sad that it was over. We went back to the dorm, i got my purse from Liz's room, and said bye. I went over to Andi's thinking we would finish our conversation from earlier and I would be in bed by 2. HA! I was so upset about the CT calling me a "fat ass", Andi was upset, and Melanie was upset...so it made for a chearful bunch! Melanie called Joey and he came to the rescue! He sat down and said "Who first?" :) So sweet. So, we talked about my problem (which is pretty minor i guess you could say), talked about Mel's problems, talked about his problems...Andi went to bed somewhere in there...and next thing I knew it was 6 am and I figured I should come home. I had a blast...joey is so much fun and such a sweetheart! He really helped me put things into perspective and sort some stuff out, he helped motivate Mel, and I hope we helped motivate him!!! It was a good bonding time.
But...now I have been awake for over 24 hours, with 3 hours of sleep before that, and have a game to go to in 12 hours. Somehow the numbers here dont add up to an enjoyable day for me! So much for doing laundry, getting ahead in classes, and relaxing. but, all in al, I would say it was worth it. I got to bond with Joey and Mel which was awesome, I burned some cals laughing (and regained them through ice cream), and I got to go to yell with the best date ever! It was great!!! So, on such a happy note (sorry if this is all random...i am pretty dilirsiou) I am going to get into bed. I'll prolly wake up sometime around 11 or 12, sadly, so give me a call if you need anything! Hope you all had a magical time at yell and get ready to BTHO Clemson! au revoir!
