What does it take to be #1?

I just wanted to take a quick moment to tell everyone how much I love them! I went to Silver Taps last night, and it doesnt matter how many times I go it still gives me chills. There are so many dynamics to it. First of all, the fact that thousands of students drop what they are doing just to honor someone they never met. Unbelievable to me. Second, the thought that life is that frugal...that it could have been one of my friends who died...what an indescribable feeling that brings. And last, that it could have been me...could have been my time...and I may not have told everyone everything they needed to hear from me. It gives me so many emotions everytime I go and watch those people's familys walk solemnly to the front of the academic plaza. Or everytime I hear the guns fire, see the Corps salute, and listen to Taps being played. It is so bizarre what it does to me.
Anyway...I just wanted to stop and take the time to tell you all how much you mean to me. Whether we have been friends for a lifetime or I just met you last week in class, you are all so important to me and I love you dearly. I wouldnt be where I am now if it werent for you! And a special note to Andi, Alexis, Lindsay, Patty, Travis, and Jonathan: you guys are so awesome! To know me as well as you all do and still want to be friends...that says enough! And the excellent friends you are...thank you.
Thanks for putting up with my stress this semester...and sorry in advance for the fact that I am going to neglect everyone at some point this semester...17 hours of classes along with 13 hours of work is a recipe for disaster. It would work out if I didnt need sleep, but apparently a lack of sleep wears on your body and makes you sick (as I am today) So I apologize for anytime I will have to decline on a social invitation, anytime I ditch you to study, or if I seem irritable for no reason. I promise there is a reason, regardless of how lame it is, and it is no reflection of how much I love you all!
I know this is pretty sappy, but Silver Taps gets me that way everytime and I am afraid I wont take the opportunity very often this semester to let you all know how much I love you.
Have a great end of the week and to anyone going to a football game this weekend: enjoy the game, I hope your team wins (unless you are from wyoming), and take a moment on Saturday to remember not only those we lost, but those you havent lost...and let them know what they mean to you.
