Ah, to be able to breath. Well, for tonight at least! My tests went well today...better than I had anticipated but that is what I would expect after no sleep. i was so incoherent at work this morning. I definitely sprayed 180 degree milk on my arm, which was red for hours. Just a note to anyone who knows anything about steaming milk: make sure the steaming rod is in the milk BEFORE you turn it on, not the other way around. Yes, this is one of the first lessons I learned...and the one that has proved to be the most valuable. I also double checked every drink I made...pretty blatantly...which made the customers pretty nervous. One customer said "you just stared up through the bottom of my cup...is something wrong?" I had to explain that nothing is wrong and I have no real reason to stare up her cup...(as if staring up someones CUP can be deemed offensive)...and that I am just so tired I am losing brain activity. I actually said to my coworker today "I am so excited! I get to go get my new ID card now!" "arent you a junior?" "yeah" "juniors arent supposed to go until september 27 i thought" "i know, so I can go get it anytime before october 22. today is the 23 right?" "yes...and our days run in numerical order where 23 comes before 27..." WOW...so I didnt really know that??? I scared myself. but, somehow I made it through both tests (frighteningly fast I must say) and now they are over. Au revoir mes examans! It is funny after you spend 45 minutes taking a french exam...I almost spoke french to the next 5 people I talked to! And, hours later, when ordering something at a fast food drive thru I said "merci" as I took my drink. good thing he wasnt listening!
So, I have taken 3 tests so far and have 2 more to go until my first round of testing is over. I think I did terrible on the first test, good on my 2 today, and will do...well, too early to say on the next 2. I took tonight off from studying (mainly because if I tried to study I wouldnt retain any info anyway) and I plan to pick it back up...well...tomorrow??? Prolly not. we'll see. but, saturday is looking like not so much fun. I have defensive driving in the morning...bleh. Studying in teh afternoon. bleh. And more studying at night. bleh bleh bleh. I have lots of homework due on monday and a test tuesday and wednesday. not so much fun. I keep thinking "if i can just make it through this round of tests!" and then I look at my calendar to realize...if i can then what? I just have more the next week...and the next and next! Oh well. It wont get too bad again until mid-october. the next 2 weeks are more minor than the past week has been. round 2 and 3 are much closer tofther though, so that is going to prove to be not enjoyable. like they always say...love college, hate class.
I do get to see my brother again this weekend...thats something to look forward to! And next weekend I get to go see my amazingly wonderful grandma! If you havent had the priviledge to meet Mimi, you're missing out! She is about half my size, height and all, and twice my stubborn/controlling/close-mindedness. She's my idol! :) j/k But i do love her dearly and am so excited about going to see her. And saturday night in dallas with laura...is there anything more fun in life? Doubtful. But, if there is, I am surely going to try and find it the next weekend in south bend, indiana! I am going to have a BLAST with my 2 bestest irish friends! (so they're not really irish...who cares anyway) I wil lalso hang out with an aggie who I seem to only see when we are with our irish friends. maybe we'll get to know each other better and hang out when we get back to college station. I hope we like each other still...we'll most likely be riding the plane back together!
well, thats about as exciting as life gets tonight. I am going to go play with my baby reagan and then head off to bed. work will come far too early in the morning and i have promised 2 people i would go to both my classes tomorrow. what do you people expect from me?!?! hope your thursday night was enjoyable and safe, and hope you have an awesome day to kick off the weekend! au revoir!
