Howdy all! Wow, what a horrible blogger I have been! I apologize to you all, but if it is any consolation to you, I havent had a whole lot to blog about! I will try to briefly update you since the last time I wrote.
I started working at Rowan on the 6 and it has been bearable. Just kidding, it isnt that bad. I am actually enjoying myself, considering about 2 hours of my day consists of me sitting in katie's office chatting about anything and everything! (ok...at LEAST 1 hours :) Work is good and it pays...but it sure does wear me out! Man, I feel like an old woman! I drink coffee every morning, decaff every night, and I hardly ever do anything social. Except this week! :) Monday was my birthday so Jonathan and Alexis came over for my family birthday dinner. We had breakfast for dinner which was delicious (my mom makes the BEST biscuits and gravy) and then a brownie fudge trifle for dessert. I know the meal and the dessert dont quite match, but it was my birthday and I got to pick! Because everyone knows I have a new cat who basically runs my life, ALL my cards had the cutest little cats on them and some of my presents revolved around cats. It was awesome. I had a nice birthday and had lots of fun. Tuesday night I went to a Bible study I have been going to that meets in deerfield. It is mainly people from bear creek baptist but some others too. I like it a lot. Wednesday I had the joy of going out to hush with patty, lindsay, alexis, and some of patty's friends. it was SO much fun! Granted the crowd is a LITTLE different than I am used to in College station, but I had a blast nonetheless. I got to bed around 3 at patty's, got up around 5:30 to drive home, then had work all day. I am exhausted! tonight I went to a Bible study at the church I have been going to this summer and it was good as well. So many people I didnt know...social anxiety kicking in!!! Tomorrow night I am eating dinner with my sunday school teacher and then afterwards having a sleepover at katies! ;) It is going to ROCK! Saturday I have no plans and I am loving it! I am sure there is always something to do...be it fun or not...so I doubt I will get much rest! Then sunday there is church and the next thing you know the week starts all over again! Thats basically an update on my life...now let me update you on the unfortunate situation with my step sister.
So, I know you remember rebecca (emily's mom) wants to move emily up to arkansas. Well, we had our temporary hearing (which you should also know about) where the judge said that temporarily there is no need to move emily and he will make his final decision in a final hearing. Since then the situation has gotten uglier by the minute. We had emily for the last 2 weeks ending on sunday, july 18. It was an awesome family time, we all got along very well, and emily shared with me some of the truths of her feelings (things rebecca likes to leave out when expressing her opinion of emily's feelings) Emily does not want to move, nor does she want to stay...she knows she is going to live far apart from one of her parents and, though rebecca would say otherwise, emily does not want to choose either of her parents. (as no child would) When alfredo took emily to her house sunday night rebecca wasnt there...she was in arkansas (she has been working there since june 7) but her ex-boyfriend was there and LIED to alfredo about rebecca "being back in a few minutes" I called emily to ask her a question and uncovered that her and jack were on the way to the airport so she could go see her mom...and she had NO knowledge of this. Rebcca called alfredo irate about the fact that I called her house (i am now referred to as alfredo's agent) and she once again declared I am not allowed to call her house. (i beat it once, i can do it again) Anyway, on my birthday the phone rang and I answered it "may i speak with alfredo" "who is this" "MAY I SPEAK WITH ALFREDO" "who is this" "AMANDA you know who this is GIVE alfredo the phone!" "who is this" click...it was rebecca and she hung up on me. (not for the first time in my life) She is being uglier to alfredo, restricting contact with emily, and this could not be done soon enough. our lawyers think we wont have a final hearing until december, preceded by 2 or 3 more small hearings about issues such as emily's residence for the fall semester since she is not permitted to live in arkansas and rebecca already works there, an attorney to represent emily's rights, and something else I couldnt remember. It is such a nightmare and we need many prayers.
Now that I have updated you my hands are so tired I dont have time to tell you anything present going on! But, please keep my family in your prayers and to anyone in college station: i should be in town next weekend so give me a call!
