Wise words from the best grandmother in the world:
Your dad was a wonderful person and how I loved him! But he was a poor money manager. He wanted the best for you kids and Melinda and provided well for you all when you were young. It never occurred to him that he wouldnt always be here for you (until he got sick) and I think when he realized that was not going to happen it hurt him more than the lukemia did. I have never known anyone, including my other 3 children, that loved their fmaily more than he did and showed it in so many ways and I hope you, Brandon, and Brian never forget that. And perhaps you have learned the importance not only of spending time and sharing love with your kids as well as saving for a rainy day, a concept he didnt grasp. I certainly know how difficult it has been for all of you not to have the guidance of such a good dad later in life, as my kids and myself went though the same thing, but maybe we all came out stronger individuals.
She went on to say how proud of me she is and how much she loves me. You have to understand, that is coming from a woman who never speaks of emotional things and has never mentioned such touching things about my dad or the loss of her husband and her dad. Mimi is the best! I cant wait to go see her and Laura soon...family rocks! I swear, older people are so much wiser...I hope and pray she is around for a lot longer!!! Well, I am off to the mall for a little while and then apartment looking again...such a search! au revoir!
