Today was a very productive day! Go me!!!
I went to french class and watched yet another exciting episode in our mini-soap-opera we watch every Tuesday. On Tuesdays we go to a different room with a grad student and watch a film and generally take a quiz. Well, today our teacher/grad student was like "Est-ce vous êtes contempt pour regarder le film?" (is it that you are pleased to watch the film?) to which a boy in the class responded, "Oui! Je suis trés éxcité!" Well, our teacher started CRACKING up and was like "yeah, you dont ever want to say that...in french that doesnt mean I am excited, it means I am horny..." WOW! I could not believe she said that! But, good to know if I am ever in France! Dont you hate those words that sound the same as English but have a different, and bad, meaning? Ask Jen about her personal experience with that, I wont embarass her in my blog!!! Love ya Jen! :)
After French I went to the building for turf and while waiting for class I could either nap on the bench or study for french...well, as all college kids and no 6 yr olds like to do, I napped! Question: When children are given the wonderful and blessed opportunity to nap, why do they fight it??? Anyway, Jen politely woke me up just in time for class, which was regrettably boring. But, I saw my test grade...yeah, about that, gonna need to study next time...yikes. After turf I sat through accounting...it wasnt too bad...he stayed on topic for most of the class time so that is a plus (when he gets off topic it is just weird)
And after acct I went apartment looking again. I found some good ones. Also, I was informed by 2 people that they have friends who are looking for roommates...since the messengers are totally cool, I would imagine their friends are too...so maybe I should look into that! 2 bedroom apartments are SO much cheaper than 1 bedrooms! Man, some of the 2 bdrms we looked at today were HUGE!!! Unbelievable!!! After hunting some down and calling others for prices, i started studying with the most beautiful Wag that will ever be a member of the corps of cadets...Liz Vacek! I hadnt seen her in forever so it was awesome to spend some time together! We went to Souper Salad, studied for HOURS, and then took a 2 hour break while I was at gap. I got off at 11, picked her up, and we went to IHOP to study some more. We didnt get a whole lot done there...unless you count sitting on the booth waiting to be seated for 15 minutes while there are 10 open tables, sitting at the table for 10 minutes before our drink order was taken, and sitting for another 10 minutes before our coffee was delivered productive...I sure dont. But, we got to see some real winners and eat some delicious bannana nut pancakes...if you havent had those, they are TO DIE FOR!!! FYI
I think I am really prepared for my french test...ask me anything! ok, not anything...ask me what time it is, how to get from one place to another (insert places please), what instruments people play (again, insert people...), and...hmm...thats about it! :) I can also give commands (something I was born to do) such as "écoute à ton proffesseur!" (listen to your professor) and "sois sympa!" (be nice). I'm good huh! Liz was watching me study and she noticed I learned the word oboe...hmm...oboe...I think that I have used that word, in english, about 100 times in my life, and that is only because I was in band for 7 years and one of my bestest friends played it...but the average person could possibly live their whole life without saying it more than 5 times. PLEASE tell me why I am learning it in french, considering i may NEVER even step foot in any country that speaks that language, much less use the word??? Liz brought that to my attention so I thought I'd enlighten you! :)
Are you enjoying learning french through me? Cause I have noticed I type in french a lot...thanks for putting up with it cause the more practice I get the better! As I said, i REALLY need someone to speak it with, so could you please have the government teach it to you real quick (you know how they can make you fluent in like 6 weeks? i only need you to know the basics...should take about 2 days...) Then you can help me! :) Otherwise I am going to be typing sentences in french, then translating, for the rest of the semester...could get old! :)
Hmm...what else what else...looking around my room for something to spark a conversation...hmm...nope, think thats about it for today! :) Oh wait...if anyone has any money, I am always accepting donations! Ok, thats all! :) Have a wonderful wednesday (I know I will...I get to eat with travy again...WHOOP!!!) au revoir!
