Like every other American, and espcially Houstonian, one of my many new year's resolutions was to lose weight. (I say Houstonian since we are the fattest city in America and I am on my way to contributing to the wonderful title)

In high school I weighed a nice, even 130. I wont tell you what I weigh now. But, I have made myself a motivation poster with a picture of me at my best, and a picture of me at my worst (BQ Ball...YUCK). I have a friend from work who is going to be my work-out buddy once her broken toe heals, but that isnt for a week or 2 so I decided to start without her. Last week I exercised by going to A&M Consolidated HS's track and running a lap around the track, up and down the bleachers 4 times, another lap around the track, up and down the bleachers 4 more times, and 2 more laps. Whew. That took it out of me. I did that last Friday. I planned on doing it Saturday night but Alexis and Jonathan were in town, and Sunday it was raining. So, yesterday in Houston I ran with Allison (my dog) for about 20 minutes. A few minutes ago I went to the weight room at Melrose and ran the treadmill for 35 minutes!!! Go me!!! So, I plan on alternating between the treadmill and my A&M Consolidated work-out every day and hopefully in a month we will see some results! I have also vowed to eat healthier, but that cant start until I can afford some groceries and who knows when that will be!!! All I know is, thanks to Jen's new cookbook, I know the calories & fat in all my meals and just now I worked off twice what I ate last night for dinner!!! Woo hoo!!! I am on the right track. To help me, could you please badger me with questions about my latest exercising extravaganzas so I am sure to continue on the right track? Thanks...you rock!

Well, to fullfill my boredom without any money, yesterday I spent the day reading instructions to my mom's sewing machine and becoming a master seamstress!!! Well, novice seamstress fits better, but I did fairly well for my first day! I made my mom a coin purse, my step-sister a purse, and a cushion/pillow for a chair. It was quite fun. I love making things...seeing the end product is so rewarding!

I am waiting on my money to get here...any day now I should be financially set...any day now...

I can not believe it is 2004. OMG. I remember when I was a junior in HS and Jonathan first came to A&M he kept blabbing on and on about c/o '04 and all this...then I made a welcome poster for the freshman in HS that said "Welcome Class of 2004! We're glad you're here!" Both of those things seemed so weird to me because I thought it would be FOREVER away...4 years seems so much longer than it really was!!! Or maybe it was longer than it seemed...who knows. Either way, it is already 2004, Patty, Lindsay, Sarah, and Julie are all about to graduate and, even scarier, in less than a year Jonathan will be a graduate of Texas A&M University and on to who knows where...Montana? North Dakota? Wyoming? Whichever one, they're all the same...too freaking far away. Hold on to your shirt tails...time flies!!!

Well, it is 5:00 and I have to be at work at 7:00...still need to shower, eat, and throw some laundry in. Hope your Christmas and New Year was all you had hoped for, and I hope you enjoy the rest of the holidays! (unless this is a high schooler and in that case, enjoy your LAST SEMESTER OF HIGH SCHOOL!!! WHOOOP!!!) adios!
