On the first Tuesday of every month I am reminded of my favorite tradition in aggieland. Silver Taps. I am also reminded that I am attending the most amazing university known to man...and I am proud of it! For those of who dont know what Silver Taps is, I will boast once more about the amazing school I am a part of...
On the first tuesday of every month at 10:30 p.m. all the lights on campus go out and thousands of students stop what they are doing and gather at Sul Ross's statue to honor any aggies who unfortunately lost their lives the month before. The Ross Volunteers fire a 21 gun salute and buglers play a rendition of taps -- Silver Taps -- Everyone stands silently, and when it is over, silently walks back home. It is amazing...I get chills everytime I am there and everytime I think about it. If I ever wonder if there is a better place to be, I just have to think of this one tradition that happens at no other place and I am once again sure that Texas A&M is the finest place to be. Where else would thousands of people who never met you gather to honor you in the event that you died? It is incredible. I could go on for hours...
Anyhow, enough school pride for now, more to come later! So...my to-do list this week is miles long!!! Once that is all over I think I am going to move back home until next semester. Things get too hectic here and I am not happy...so where else but a mother's arms is there to go? Mommies rule!!! In the event that American Eagle decides that they will be at a loss without me on staff I will stay, but other than that it is off to h-town. Dont worry, I will be in CS for exams...and if I think about it I will entertain you all with blogs while I am home. :)
Oh...btw...Amy Lynne Boarman and Amanda Loving Blair have A LOT more in common than just initials! That's only the start of it! While coaching our wonderful, beautiful, amazing, funloving, adorable, etc friend Jen in her life, we seem to come up with the same advice! Everytime I say something Jen says "Thats exactly what Amy says!!!" It is awesome. Amy, I am an angel sent from Heaven to take care of your best friend while you are unfortunately down in Austin!!! Dont worry, I still give her crap all the time! :) The 3 of us need to get together soon...I swear...that is like the only combination of 3 where I have never felt "two's company, three's a crowd"...and thats odd cause you'd think with you 2 being soul mates I would feel left out...That just goes to show how amazing the 2 of you are! (dont worry amy...you're still better! :)
Anyhow...my boyfriend decided to fall asleep instead of doing his part on his paper so i am going to wake him up and then help him write about how Forrest Gump was discriminated against. :) Adios!
